CURIOSITIES ON THE SKIN, THE HAIR AND THE FINGERNAILS


* There are no two equal fingerprints 

* The skin contains a pigment, the melanina, which gives the color to the skin and protects of the sun. The dark skins have more melanina. 

* The skin has a thickness of two millimeters. 

* The freckles owe to an unequal production of melanina. 

* The dust of the house contains an enormous quantity of dead cells of our skin. 

* The half moon of the base of the fingernail is a leather layer. 

* The fingernails of the hand are late 6 months in growing from the base to the top. 

* The fingernails grow 0,55 mm per week. They can reach 30 cm long. 

* There is approximately 100.000 hair in the head, and they fall down to us approximately 80 hair a day. 

* The hair grows approximately 2-3 mm per week.


* The human body produces approximately 18 kilos of inert skin along his life, that is to say, the approximate     weight of a child of 6 ó 7 years.
