FIVE IMPORTANT THINGS THAT VIDA TEACHES YOU
|
The most important question
During my second semester in the school of infirmary, our teacher gave us an examination surprise. I was a conscious student and I read rapidly all the questions, until I read the last one:
" What is the name of the woman who cleans the school? "
Surely this was some type of prank. I had seen often the woman who was cleaning the school. It was high, a dark hair, as of fifty years, but: how was I going to know his name?
I delivered my examination, leaving the last question blank.
Before it was finishing the class, someone asked the teacher if the last question would count for the note of the examination. "Absolutely", said the teacher. " In his careers you will know many persons. They all are important. They deserve his attention and care, although only they smile and say to them: ' Hello! '
I never forgot this lesson. Also I learned that his name was Dorothy. We all are important.
I help in the rain
One night, at 11:30 p.m., an African American woman, of advanced age was stopped in the hard shoulder of a freeway of Alabama, trying to support a strong thunderstorm.
His car had decomposed and she needed desperately that they were taking her. Any soaking, she decided to stop the next car. A white young man her stopped to help, in spite of all the conflicts that had happened during the 60. The young man took her to a sure place, assistance helped to obtain it and it put it in a taxi. She seemed to be quite cursory. She noted down the direction of the young man, she was grateful to him and went away.
Seven days happened, when they touched the door of his house. For his surprise, a TV set giant screen to color was delivered to him by mail to his house. It had a special attached note to the bundle. This one was saying: " Great thanks for helping in the freeway another night. The rain overwhelmed not only my clothes but my spirit. Then you appeared. Thanks to you, I could come next to the bed of my agonizing husband, just before which he was dying. God blesses it for helping and for serving others disinterestedly. Sincerely: The Lady of Nat King Cole.
Do not wait for anything in return and you will receive it.
He always remembers those who you serve
In the days in which an ice cream was costing much less, a 10-year-old child entered an establishment and sat down to a table. The mesera put a water glass facing him.: " How much is this an ice cream of chocolate with almonds? " the child asked. " Fifty cents ", answered the mesera. The child extracted his hand of his pocket and examined a number of coins.: " How much is this an alone ice cream? ", he asked again..
Some persons were pregnant for a table and the mesera was already a little impatient. She said " thirty five cents " sudden. The child counted the coins again. " I want the alone ice cream ", said the child. The mesera brought to him the ice cream, and put the account in the table and went away.
The child finished the ice cream, paid in the box and went away. When the mesera returned, she started cleaning the table and then it was difficult to him to swallow saliva with what it saw. There, put tidily along with the empty dish, there was thirty five cents and twenty-five more ... his tip.
Never judge anybody premature.
Then a peasant came, and it was taking a load of vegetables. On having come closer the rock, the peasant put his load in the flat and tried to move the rock aside of the way. After pushing and getting tired very much, it achieved it. Meanwhile he was gathering his load of vegetables, it noticed a portfolio in the soil, jousted where the rock had been. The portfolio was containing many golden coins and a note of the same king indicating that the gold was for the person that removiera the stone of the way. The peasant learned what others never understood.
Every obstacle presents an opportunity to improve the condition of one.
Donating blood
Many years ago, when I was employed as volunteer at Stanford's Hospital, I met a niñita so-called Liz who was suffering from a strange illness. His only opportunity to recover seemingly was a blood transfusion of his 5-year-old brother, who had survived miraculously the same illness and had developed the antibodies necessary to fight her. The doctor explained the situation to the brother of the girl, and asked him if it would be ready to give his blood to his sister. I saw it doubting in only a moment before taking a big sigh and saying: " If, I will do it, if that saves Liz. "
Meanwhile the transfusion was continuing, he was put to bed in a bed next to that of his sister, and smilingly while we were assisting it to him and to his sister, seeing returning the color to the cheeks of the girl. Then the face of the child became pale and his smile disappeared. It looked at the doctor and asked him in a trembling voice: " At what time will I start dying? "
Being alone a child, he had not understood the doctor; he was thinking that he would give all his blood to his sister. And nevertheless it was giving it to him.
It gives everything for whom you love.
IT LOVES AS YOU HAVE NEVER WANTED.
DO NOT DESPISE THE FRIENDSHIP OF YOUR FRIENDS.
IT LIVES THE DAYS WITH FAITH, LOVE AND PEACE.
IT WORKS AS IF YOU DID NOT NEED THE MONEY.
AND IT DANCES AS IF NOBODY SAW YOU.
